IYI Interns

Internships are a vitally important part of IYI.  IYI internships are about learning and developing; they are about figuring out if this is what you are called to invest your life in while someone with experience and insight invests their life into yours.

IYI interns are poured into by IYI’s professional and experienced staff that uses its years of experience with interns to develop ministry-minded visionaries who make dreams a reality.  Key to this is developing effective leadership that flows from the leader’s personal character. The effective leader develops and refines each area of his/her life as he/she sets the example for others.

IYI offers short-term introductory internships lasting three to six months for those that want to explore if global ministry is for them.

IYI offers full internships (six month to two years) that are for those that believe global ministry is their life’s calling or for those that want to take a season of life and invest in the ministries of International Youth Initiative.

An advantage of IYI internships is that the program is directed by IYI Executive Director Keith King, who has over thirty years of experience developing leaders who are serving all around the world.  He has also taught at Biola University and Barclay College specializing in the personal development of ministry students. IYI interns are equipped and stretched by people who have ministry experience and challenge you to go beyond your limits.

Makes IYI Staff & Interns Different?

  • Youth Focused: We are all about youth age 12-24. Very few youth focused organizations exist outside the U.S.
  • Mentoring and Empowering Nationals: Being an IYI staff/intern member involves developing nationals in their vision, plans, and daily ministry by providing resources from the U.S. that bring their goals to reality. Because of this, IYI staff is engaged in both worlds: in the U.S. and globally.
  • Developing the vision for U.S. Youth and Churches: Through all of IYI’s ministries, U.S. churches, youth ministries, and individuals are assisted in developing their vision and plans to reach the world as well.
  • Experienced and Successful Leadership: IYI’s leadership team has over thirty years of developing people in the character and skills it takes to “make it happen.”  Staff and interns learn the basic skills and “worldview” it takes to be true world changers for Christ.
